Competition Rules

This is a total length measurement competition. Entrants may submit a photo of any of
the nominated legal sized fish on a brag mat or similar measuring device. You may only
submit 1 fish per species, if you submit multiples of one species the larger
measurement will count. The angler with the longest total length (CM) accrued will be
the winner. Measurements will be rounded down to the nearest CM.

The photo must be taken of the fish on the competition brag mat supplied in your entry
pack or if too long for the mat a clear image on another measuring device with the mat in
the image will be accepted. Fish are to be measured from the tip of the nose to the tip of
the tail. Squid must be measured with a total hood length measurement.

Photos must be clear and the length visible otherwise they may be denied at the judge’s discretion.
Entry packs are to be collected from Mullies Marine or posted at the entrant’s expense.
Submissions are to be recorded using the Track my fish App
Photos must be submitted within the competition times stated below.

Eligible species:
Snapper, Gummy Shark, School Shark, King George Whiting, Australian Salmon, Southern
Bluefin Tuna, Black Bream, Australian Bass, Estuary Perch, Southern Calamari (hood length
measurement), Arrow Squid (hood length measurement), Long Finned Eel, European Carp,
Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Redfin Perch, Flathead (All Varieties), Blue Throat Wrasse, Banjo
Shark, Garfish, Yellow eye Mullet, Slimy Mackerel, Yakka (yellow tail scad), Kingfish,
Barracouta, Long finned Pike (snook).

Competitors must attend Presentation on the 4th of October in order to claim
prizes. If a winner is not in attendance the Prize will go to the next highest place holder.

Competition Times:
Start Fishing 6am Friday 26th of September
Stop Fishing 10pm Friday 3rd October

Venue:
The Competition can be fished from anywhere within Victoria

Presentation:
Presentation will be held at Mullies Marine (56 Gwen Rd, Cranbourne West, 3977) on Saturday
4th of October between 3-7pm.
This will be complimented by a talk from a special guest, a live podcast from Wind Against Tide,
a food truck on site, a bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Prize giveaways and
Boats on Display.

Prize Categories:
Senior – longest cumulative length of the nominated species (Placings 1-3)
Junior – longest cumulative length of the nominated species (Placings 1-3)
Senior – Longest Snapper
Junior – Longest Snapper
Senior – Longest Other
Junior – Longest Other

Random prizes will also be given away on the day of presentation at Mullies
Marine.

Fisheries and Water Police:
All entrants are to abide by the States Fisheries in regard to licensing, catch and possession
limits. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that their water craft and safety gear
comply with the Victorian State Safely Rules

Safety Precautions:
All boats are highly encouraged to register with the Coastguard and or with family members.
Remember to log off at the end of the day.
Never fish in dangerous conditions. It is the responsibility of the entrants to decide whether
conditions are suitable for their craft and the safety of all anglers. All anglers and boats enter
this competition at their own risk
